HappyRoof is the roofing arm of the same team behind HappyVac Heating & Air, working out of the same shop on Doughty Road in Pleasantville. We started it for a simple reason: our HVAC customers kept asking who they could trust with their roof, and we did not have a good answer.

Roofing has a reputation problem, and it is earned. Storm-chaser outfits appear after every nor'easter, knock doors, and are gone by spring. Homeowners are asked to sign on the spot for the largest single repair most of them will ever make, usually without ever seeing a photograph of their own roof.

We do it the other way around. The inspection is free and it comes with photos of what is actually up there. If your roof has ten good years left, we will tell you that and leave you the report. When it genuinely does need replacing, you get an itemized written proposal before anyone picks up a nail gun.

Atlantic County is a hard place to keep a roof intact. On the barrier islands, sustained ocean wind lifts shingle edges and salt air corrodes fasteners years ahead of schedule. Inland toward the Pinelands, tree cover means limb strikes, shaded slopes that grow moss, and gutters that pack solid with pine needles every autumn. A roof that was specified for a subdivision in central Jersey is not specified for a bayfront house in Margate, and we build accordingly.
